Transmitting sysex from Freeloader to the MMT-8

To begin, locate the sysex file you want to send to the MMT-8. Drives and folders on your filing system are displayed in the box on the bottom left, files in the selected folder in the box on the bottom right. Figure 1 shows that we have selected the file mmt8fact.syx (the demo data supplied with the MMT-8) in the root of drive C.

Click the "ins" button to add your file into the current playlist (the box in the middle of the window). Then click the play button (">"), and Freeloader will start transmitting the contents of the sysex file to the MMT-8. The display on the MMT-8 will show:

RECEIVING DATA FROM MIDI.......

Figure 3 shows Freeloader in the process of transmitting sysex data. Note that the number of bytes sent is shown (top left), as well as the percentage of the total (bottom middle).

When all the sysex data in the file has been transmitted, the MMT-8 'resets' by showing its startup screen (Figure 4) for a second or two, and then changing to Song 99 (Figure 5).

(Note that the startup screen will display the version number of your ROM, which will not necessarily be version 1.10 - click here for an explanation of the differences between ROM versions.)

SELECT SONG 99 \ EMPTY SONG

When finished, Freeloader displays "DONE PLAYING" in the top left status box:
